The State of Maine requires the Motorcycle Safety Course to be taken before you can obtain a permit to drive your motorcycle, This course is an eight hour, classroom course. The permit test is administered during the course. Upon successful completion of the course you will receive a course completion certificate, which is the document required by the Bureau of Motor Vehicles to issue your permit to you. You can obtain your permit as early as the next day, ( the first business day after, if Monday is a holiday).
We are State Licensed to instruct the course. The instructor is also State Licensed with over 10 years of instructing the course.
Courses are held on Sundays. The minimum class size is six people.
Classes require advance payment by cash or certified check, (money order), and must be received by CMDA at least one week prior to a class. This is to accomodate the state mandated new class report, which is due seven days prior to the start of each class. CMDA will refund payments in full if we are unable to hold a class within two planned sessions.
Please note: In order to continue offering our classes, CMDA cannot refund for a missed class.
Call us today at 623-5011, to sign up for a one day (8 hour) course, and be riding your motorcycle the very next day.
